Photo-identification allows us to identify each organism individually through photography and characterization of parts of its body.
By identifying each individual sea turtle, we can learn about their movement patterns over time, if they return to the same area or if the same individuals are seen in different places, and thus help implement more effective conservation measures for these animals. By knowing where they go, we will know where to protect these globally endangered species.
Our impact: Thanks to this project we have managed to understand the migration patterns of sea turtles. This inventory is a fundamental tool to protect them.
